Integrity

Integrity is one of the core triad of information security principles, the others being Confidentiality and Availability. Integrity refers to ensuring that data is accurate and complete, and protected from accidental or malicious changes or other attempts to manipulate it.  Strong access controls are a good starting point to ensure data integrity, by limiting who has the ability to make changes to sensitive data. Cryptographic techniques such as encryption and checksums are also commonly deployed.
